The Markle Evangeline Residence is for business, professional, graduate and undergraduate college women between the ages of 18 to 50. It is a 17 story, high rise dwelling operated by The Salvation Army in Greenwich Village, in the heart of Manhattan.

In the best neighborhood of Manhattan, Greenwich Village, you will find the Markle Evangeline Residence. Our residents are women between the ages of 18-50 who come to New York for professional work, education or trainee programs. The residence is near every subway line and some cross-town buses. You will be able to easily and quickly find your way around the city. A brief ten-minute walk will take you to some great areas, including the Meatpacking District and East Village for nights of fun with your friends, the West Village for some of the best restaurants and celebrity spotting and Soho for a great shopping experience. See our Amenities page for other neighborhoods and sights we are close to.

We want your stay with us to be safe and great. We have 24/7 security all year round. You don't have to cook because we'll serve you a meal twice a day and once a week our housekeeping service will clean your room. With private bathrooms and wireless internet, you may not even want to venture outside!

In our residence, you will not just have neighbors, you will have friends, and you will have a very warm new home. That's how we at the Markle Evangeline Residence are "Turning the city into a home".

The kitchen will be closed from June 1 - mid September. We are giving each resident, new and current, a $10/day credit (2nd meal/day allowance) for the number of days (length of stay during construction) and crediting it toward the total due amount.

Breakfast will continue to be served in the dining room and will be essentially continental style.

We plan to keep the dining room open throughout the renovations 24 hours a day.
Therefore you will have access to the microwaves and juice and milk machines throughout the day.

We will plan to have evening get-togethers and provide food (e.g pizza, 'chinese', ice-cream)- on a fairly regular basis.
